Near Field Communication technology is used primary for creating radio communication between smart phones. In general, NFC is best in social networking. Users can share their photos, videos and play multiplayer mobile games. Usually this technology has a slower rate in data transfer when compared with Bluetooth but here pairing devices is not required. And it sets up more quickly too.
Through NFC, one can effectively do contactless payments which are done through credit card, debit card, smart cards,etc in mobile phones. These tasks can be accomplished through wifi (wireless technology).
In smart phones, NFC is used in many mobile applications. Only low power is consumed by this technology. It is basically a short distance communication and also data transmission is secure between devices.
People can use NFC tags to program different functions such as setting alarm, phone calls,etc. Users can anytime switch on/off the Bluetooth or wifi according to their convenience. Students also choose NFC as their final year project domains which is one of the emerging technologies.
